Clachan Power Station - Adit and spoil heap

A short distance below the surge pond is the entrance to the construction adit referenced in the surge pond drawings:

A considerable quantity of spoil was removed from the tunnel via this adit, the spoil heap being somewhat precariously perched on the steep hillside. From above the adit:
