pdp-11

\The pdp-11 was by far the most successful of DECs pdp series, outselling all the others combined, several times over. It was a 16-bit machine, the first departure from a fully octal-based system which DEC attempted.

I have a considerable number of pdp-11 systems, ranging from a very rare 11/20, the very first pdp-11, to micro 11/73. I'm still in the process of documenting this collection, so here are a couple of photos as placeholders.

The 11/45 came from the Scottish Supercomputing Centre at the University of Edinburgh, where it was used as a comms controller. The 11/70 came from the North-East Thames Regional Health Authority, where it was used with 3 other systems to run health admin s/w under MUMPS.
